2 weeks post ablation and a little tachy today

Jun 21, 2011 - 0 comments

It's been 2 weeks since my ablation and my heart has hardly missed a beat until today. Got up this morning and decided to tackle the day with 10 min. on the treadmill, scrubbed down the bathroom, hung out some clothes, finished the ironing that's been accumulating, and other  odds and ends while listening to a suspenseful  Mary Higgins Clark book on cd. I've felt a little winded and decided to just go about everything a little bit slower. During all of this time my heart has been flip flopping around and a feeling of pressure in my head. I took my bp and it was fine but my heart rate was 110. Sat down to rest a while and it went down to 106. So I guess this is a normal part of post ablation. I'd hate it if every day felt like this. I did a vagal manuever and got it down to 87bpm. Am I overdoing it?

Putting pieces of puzzle together for tiredness

Jun 17, 2011 - 2 comments

I think I have bladder/kidney irritation from laying on my back after the ablation without  being able to go to the bathroom for 3 hours. My small bladder was screaming for releif.  I've had pain in the groin area of course because of the catheter sites, but that continuing pain could also be from the irritated bladder. I had severe cramping two nights ago and the pelvic area is very tender. I've been drinking tons of liquids trying to flush all meds out from the ablation and I think that has actually kept a uti at bay. Talked to a nurse today and she agrees and dr. is putting me antibiotic. I should have put this together sooner. All of this could be causing the tiredness because whenever I have a uti it is always preceded by being very tired.

On another note, my heart is doing great, I am soooo at peace with it.

Day 10 post ablation

Went to the ep today and got some answers to some questions. He explained where the burn was for AVNRT which was in the AV node area right outside the slow pathway. One thing I didn't ask and I was going to was about being so tired. The doctors office is 40 mi. away and I had a hard time staying awake for the trip there and back. Came home and took a 2 hour nap. I wonder how long I'll feel this way.

Day 9

Jun 15, 2011 - 0 comments

Blood pressure 78/50. Drank almost  2 liters of water so it's not lack of water causing the low bp. I think it's just the  way I'm wired. I had a few of the tingly sensations in my upper right leg again. There's a lump underneath my incision on the same leg but it seems smaller than it was last night. I see the doctor tomorrow so I'll ask him. Hope this is all normal.
