29 weeks today update

Nov 18, 2008 - 2 comments

So I haven't written a journal in over a month. Things are going great. I had my shower the 1st of this month. It was a great shower. There were too many people there to be able to chat with everyone, but it was so good to see everyone. I got all kinds of diapers and gift cards. Now we are getting everything ready.
Thankfully the cerclage is working ang holding my little guy in there just fine. I have a lot of pressure, but he is very low and the Dr said it is normal with a cerclage as the weight is being distributed differently. I am very uncomfortable at night when it comes to sleeping, but I when my ittle man kicks and moves all else is forgotten. I will miss all the movements when I deliver, but I will not miss the heartburn... OMG the heartburn is BAD!!
So i have gotten a rocker, the pack-n-play which will be the bassinet and changing table, and my breast pump. I splurged on the breast pump as I plan to go back to work after about 4 mths. I work nights so he willbe with my hubby not day care, but I want to make sure I can maintain my milk supply so I got the expensive Medela Pump in Style Advance... It will be worth it though I know it. I still need to get the stroller/carseat combo. I also got the swing. I have plenty of NB clothes, burp cloths, a tub, but I only have 2 towels. So I need some more towels. I also have plenty of washcloths. I also only have a few recieving blankets. I have a bunch of bigger blankets, but I need a few more receiving blankets. SOOOOOOOOOOO I think I am about ready to have this baby...lol...
I am so excited and as I walk around the house and see all the stuff I get even more excited... I can't wait... Unfortunately I do not have an extra room for the baby so he will be in our room, which means I have one less thing to do in decorating a nursery.
I hope everyone else is ready and enjoying the last few weeks and months of their pregnancies...

It's been a while

So I haven't been on here except to check on everyone's progress for a while. I gues you get to that point in ur pregnancy where things plateau. I have been gaining a decent amount of weight, eating good most of the time, taking my vitamins, all that stuff.
I have been on bed rest most of the pregnancy so it seems to be going by in super slow mo, but I can't complain.
Since the cerclage things have been great. Mister man is ALWAYS moving. Probably since I am not moving him around so much. I get to have an u/s every two weeks and the do very detailed measurements once a month. This gives me something to look forward to atleast. I get my stith out at 36 weeks which is the first week of Jan and the Dr's think I will have him right around that same time.
My shower is going to be on Nov 1st to avoid the holidays. I hope it turns out good. No telling with the economy the way it is...!!!
Well thats about it for me... Another day another pound gained!!

Dr follow up from surgery

So we went to the peri Dr. yesterday to follow up after the cerclage, and all is doing great. There have been no more changes in the cervix since placement of the cerclage so its working. It doesn't correct things, but it stops the opening and shortening of the cervix.
Baby is growing great and moving all the time. Dr said I do not have to be on as strict of bed rest right now but to take it easy. I see him every 2 week for a CL measurement and if there are anymore changes or if there appeard to be additional shortening before removal of the cerclage at 36 weeks then I am back on bed rest. He said there is a high chance of being back in bed as the uterus continues to grow and addsmore pressure on the cervix, but for now I am enjoying the freedom.
Wow the things we take for granted like cooking for ourselves and getting our own drinks ect...
I plan to enjoy this pregnancy whether in bed or not!!
I have changed OB's and my next appt is tomorrow at the regular OB for my monthly check. They want me there right away especially since they dont know me and I have the placement of the cerclage...
Good luck to all expectingmothers out there. If I can do this again, anyone can!
