The MRI came back with no change and the lesions I did have are smaller on my brain and no longer there on my spine. Its good news, though I feel I may be going a bit nuts with any weird things I did have. So no relapse no diagnosis. Its now been 3 years since my CIS. Just been told to get on with it really and be positive, which I am. And that I have a very high chance of being diagnosed with clinical MS in the future.

Since then I had a few occasions where I felt my balance was off. Not terribly but definitely wobbly on my feet. I know this could have been many things though so I am trying not to think of it as being definitely related. One morning I knelt up in bed and just toppled right over.  Unfortunately I lost my balance at the top of my stairs too and fell down the whole lot! Hurt quite a bit but I was OK. Was nearly passing out for half an hour and couldn't properly move my arm for hours after and my wrist was all swollen. Will hold the banister next time I feel like that. : $

( Though I didn't get it checked out, when I finally felt my hand, I think I may have slightly broke It )!

As I wrote in my posts the Lumbar Puncture went a bit wrong. I passed out during then bolted up out of the bed when I came to. I really thought I had done some damage as the doctor looked so worried and when I asked if everything was OK she said no. She was actually just shook up herself and annoyed she hadn't got it finished.

I have been having lots of mild symptoms like muscle twitching, fuzzy feelings (toes and fingers), eye twitching, mood swings, (that might just be me though), my usual spinal burning and tingling but mainly when I am not keeping up with my yoga, some mild numbness in my right arm and slight loss of feeling in left hand and some dull aching, slightly painful feelings in fingers and left arm and left leg. These symptoms seem to get worse when I am stressed. I made an appointment to see my Neurologist to discuss them. I ended up seeing the specialist registrar instead as she was busy. He said it was stress and not a relapse or anything like that. He thought a lumbar puncture would be a good idea and I reluctantly agreed.

I was meant to have my Lumbar puncture on Friday but when I turned up they said it had been cancelled but no one had let me know. I had arranged babysitters and turned down work and was very nervous leading up to it so was not happy. I think there had been a misunderstanding as I was meant to go in for an LP two weeks after the one that went wrong and my Neuro cancelled that, which I knew about, so I think she saw I was in for this one and said to the nurse it was meant to be cancelled. Who knows! Its not the first time they have messed up with me. There was some confusion over one of my scan results. I was told at one point I had more lesions but it had been a mistake. I now don't know if I need the LP or not and have to wait until the 12th of December for a review. I have had the Lyme blood test but not received my results yet.

Apart from this all is generally OK. I have lost two stone since the beginning of summer.

On the 4th of July, the day before my daughters 3rd birthday, I was diagnosed with clinically isolated syndrome.  I really wasn't expecting to get a diagnosis just results from latest MRI and VEP.
MRI showed no change and VEP was negative.

I had my mum with me, she seemed pleased with the diagnosis but was not quite sure what it was just not the letters 'MS'. I was doing OK until I read I was high risk for developing MS within the next few years as I have lesions on my brain and my spine.

I have my Lumbar puncture date,28th of July and I will be tested for Lyme Disease that day too.
The only good thing happening lately is I've lost over a stone with a very healthy diet (apart from the booze) and a little help from stress!

I have the same problems with my spine but I am continuing with my yoga which helps. I have been having very regular eye twitches for a while now and recently developed lots of muscle spasms in my legs, arm and face. They are mild but so frequent, every 30 seconds or so, they are hard to ignore. That along with my moods and feeling very tired seem to be my only symptoms to date, but its hard to tell what is related and whats not.

Will write after my lumbar puncture.

I had my 3rd MR scan yesterday. It was one and a half hours long!  At first they said they were not going to do it with contrast as there was nothing in my notes to suggest me having it. I mentioned that my Neurologist had said I should have had it done at my second scan and that I should definitely have it done at my next one. After a bit of persuasion they said they would use the dye.

I managed to be very calm this time, must be getting used to them. Despite the noise I nearly fell asleep!

VEP went fine. The normal eye test and colour test was OK I think, just have to wait for the electrode one.

I will be called in to see my Neurologist once the results are through. Hope I don't have to wait too long.

[Also wanted to note that after an orchestral concert on the 17th of may I had a very strong burning sensation very close to my spine on the right hand side level with my shoulder blades. It kept me up all night. It continued the day after as well as a similar sensation further down my spine also on the right. After some yoga it seemed to get better].
