Huge emotional upsets can cause me to feel like being lazy instead of exercising.  However, doing my daily workout actually helps stave off the hurt and depression by flooding my body with natural endorphins!  And I'm getting slimmer and more toned.  Double bonus for sticking to my program.

Over the past week, my weight has slowly climbed by 3 lbs.  This is SO discouraging, but at least I know how to stop it!  I have been using a great website that allows me to put in all the food I eat during the day.  It gives immediate feedback to help me adjust my calorie intake and exercise.  Sadly, I followed its advice to "safely lose 2 lbs a week" and this resulted in the 3 lb gain!  So .. back to the number of calories *I* believe I need to lose!

I've finished my first week back on the night shift, and next week my goal is to regulate my workouts.  I'll be taking Sundays off from exercise, and eating "anything I want".  That's the key to staying committed, for me.

I am content.
