The Worst Pain Imaginable!

Jan 24, 2009 - 3 comments

Pain in my body I can bear. The pain of a loved one doubting my pain is horrific. The pain of being demeaned for acting sick is almost unbearable.
I actually had feelings of hopelessness and wished I had the guts to end it this week. (No one panic, I did not have plans, just a vague desire.)
I have snapped out of it now. My pain and ability to tolerate it is not dependent on who believes me.

Busy Weekend

At noon we have a homeschool field trip to  The Wildlife Survival Sanctuary. It is an hour away and I am driving. They have tigers, cougars and other big cats and we will get to see them closer than at a zoo. It had to be rescheduled from last week so that is only the beginning of our adventures. As soon as we get back and DH gets home from work, we leave for Tampa. DH got a hotel room for the night and we were given free tickets to Busch Gardens that expire at the end of the year. So we will be doing Busch Gardens tomorrow. This is the first time I have tried an amusement park since my MSK got so bad. I hope I can handle it.  Without the antibiotics I would not even attempt driving to the Wildlife Survival Sanctuary, let alone Busch Gardens the next day. I hope I am not biting off more than I can chew. I would hate to ruin everyone else's trip.

Monster Flu

Dec 16, 2008 - 0 comments

I can't believe we still feel sick and have no stamina. It is 2 weeks tomorrow and I still ache. I was in ER for chest pain on Thursday night. They admitted me because of an elevated cardiac enzyme.  It was normal the second time so went home Friday.

Well, I do not remember the last time I caught the flu, it was so long ago. Never got a flu shot either. Somehow our entire family came down with the flu last Wednesday and Thursday. We were not sure until Tuesday Greg and I saw the doctor that diagnosed the flu and bronchitis. She gave us bactrim and prednisone. I started feeling better a few hours after the first dose and by the next morning, after a full night's sleep I feel like a new person.
The kids have the flu too, but they did not end up with bronchitis like us old folks, so they aren't as sick. It's almost over. We have plans to go to Busch Gardens Saturday, so hopefully we will have enough stamina then.
