eyes burning and blurry again

Apr 07, 2011 - 0 comments

they were bad on Saturday, just 5 days ago, and now again today - - even as I was doing my taxes online...  hopefully no mistakes.

This seems to be the new recurring symptom.. Along with some sniffling and sneezing.

Submandibular nodes haven't gone down any lately.

sort of an update

Have been periodically sick all winter, more sick days than not - but generally less severe than previous years.

Some new things: last week my eyes were burning and vision was poor. Today that's mostly gone. There was the usual shortness of breath. Since December, very light activity would strain my muscles. As always, I keep exercising but then I pay for it afterward, feeling more sick in the short run - but then improved in the long run.

Last winter (Jan 2010), I did have a very bad and surprising episode of cold induced bronchospasm, in which all I could literally do was to try and get enough air for a few minutes. That didn't happen this winter. I suspect that the virus made my mast cells unstable and they degranulated - with histamine being a bronchoconstrictor. My submandibular nodes have gone down slowly but steadily over the past year, but still are larger than normal.

It's been two and a half years.

just cut the grass -->  BP was not high

Aug 25, 2009 - 2 comments

it's 80+ degrees, sunny, and as usual I cut the grass quickly (8-20-09). Also as usual, I seem to have more SOB than I should (virus in the lungs?)

Afterward, in the house, though perspiring and feeling hot, my temp is still only 97.9

After a few minutes, I walk upstairs then sit down to immediately take my BP. I do *not* sit for 5 minutes to catch my breath, etc.

Surprisingly, my BP is 119/93. That good systolic reading must be from the exercise induced vasodilation. Pulse was 131, though.

Yesterday's BP, sitting, no exertion, was around 125/85, pulse 75 or so

[edit: I duplicated the setting about a week later but had no similar problem reaction... maybe just a tiny bit]

almost fainted?

last Thursday, after an hour or so of afternoon walking and doing some chinups, I next go to the supermarket and right outside the doors I see my sister. After standing there for 10 minutes or so, I suddenly felt a great nausea, centered right over the solar plexus. My immediate thought was that I might faint if I continued standing there, so I immediately left.

As soon as I'd started moving, the nausea and feeling of impending blackout left. After that I was okay, except for feeling a little off for the rest of the day.

So, is this a clue? Something like POTS, with blood pooling in the legs because I was standing still? Because of the virus?
