MRI Results

Mar 17, 2009 - 3 comments

The nurse called from my hepatologist's office.  My CT scan revealed an area on the upper liver that might have looked like a cyst or lesion, so an MRI with contrast was ordered.  The results are in.  There is no evidence of a lesion, which is great news.  My understanding is that a cyst is common and they don't worry about that so much.  If it was indeed a lesion, that would mean they would be concerned about the presence of cancer.  No evidence of cancer at this point.  Great news!

Had an MRI with contrast at an imaging center.  It went a lot better than expected.  The MRI unit itself was larger than the one I had my back imaging done in and seemed much less claustrophobic.  I had no reaction from the dye.  There was a lot of breath holding during the procedure, but all went quite well.  I'll be anxious to get my results.

Mammogram: A barrel of fun!

Mar 06, 2009 - 0 comments

Okay, this has nothing to do with Hep C.  I had my third annual mammogram today.  Normally I don't complain.  It's tolerable.  However, the normal "pancake" mode was set to "crepe".  Holy smokes!  I didn't think the "girls" would spring back.  But alas, they did.  It's a small price to pay for good breast health.

Aches & Pains

Mar 05, 2009 - 1 comments

It's mornings like these where I really miss being able to take ibuprofen.  I ache.  Arthritis has my back aching.  It's so difficult to bend over, but somehow I have to clean up and pack my car for my 4 hour drive home.  My elbow and wrist hurt.  I want to get through my day and function normally, but tylenol just doesn't touch the pain.  Life could be worse, but I just needed to vent.
