11.01.11 : attending cog classes at RUVO

Nov 02, 2011 - 0 comments

i now am attending cog/mem classes put on by MS society local and RUVO center. i like it and the friends there i see. though sitting that long and stuff i start to wane in about an hour or two. my hearing/audio disconnect is a real problem i see. always knew it was there but able to "fake" it until a few years ago.

fatigue issues come and go still. like a pass out dead zone i call it. at least my new PCP at VA has ordered tests to see what the issue is there. due to my neck issues that may be causing this. probably wont show anything. but it beats the VA's old statements of "we don't see anything", "your just getting older", or just flat ignore it.

people at the RUVO center are like on another planet compared to the VA with regards to "health care".

i guess we know why Congress doesn't go to the VA for health care nor to most VA employee's.

09.23.2011: foot brace fitting on the way

Sep 24, 2011 - 0 comments

good news. VA patient advocate got in touch with my PCP to rewrite the civilian neuro Rx for a foot brace.

seems the VA neruo's here blow you ******* off if you get something from civilian neuros.  if they don't like it they should start their own med practice. sure why not. treat your patients like that and see how large a practice you can build. i say go for it VA doctors. you'd like the extra money too, yes?

from experience its seems it depends on what mood the VA neuro is in if he/she will help much.  need that so you go to PCP. who would have thunk that? well, hats off to my PCP for that. contrast that with what other veterans tell me about the care they receive at their VA's. its all over the map, just depends on what city. so much for national standards!

for some reason i thought new VA regulations mentioned something different about VA acknowledging non-VA doctors. don't VA regulations mention something about the VA helping the veteran, such as SSD and claims?  kinda like Congress passing laws and someone forgot to read them. LOL    oh well, i've got brain lesions so WTF do i know.  too bad those lesions don't numb some pain and fracking discomfort, ya know?

i had frakin equilibrium issues in bed last night trying to sleep!! WTF. i really think that particular issue is degenerative destruction in my cervical area. it might be the ms lesions there though, but i don't think so. i bet the VA will want to do something about that when my medicare kicks in. you know, so they can bill them.

another personal therapy note to clear my mind.

08.12.11:  foot drop

Ufrustrated2
my foot and bottom of right leg went numb a few weeks ago.  did the solymedrol infusion. that helped me speech more than my foot! LOL  maybe my foot might get better, i hope. but so far no.  leaning strongly to start tysarbri.  at least i have a really good civilian neuro. have a good VA PCP. at least she hasn't side stepped the MS or spinal injury issues and seeks to get a handle for a better quality of life/treatment. the other one did everything he could to deny much was wrong with me. typical as you know. they have a new MS research/patient place here. i doubt the VA will send me there. heck, the VA wouldn't even send me to their own MS specialty clinic in Oregon or Washington.

09.27.10: caffeine - not what it used to be

Sep 29, 2010 - 0 comments

still draggin my arse around now that i'm not drinking much caffiene.

for the fatigue and bizarre MS fatigue, i've taken caffiene pills and energy drinks(they suck). the pills are like one cup of coffee.

for some nites now, i've slept like a tornado. not restful at all. i have sleep pills but i try not to take them much.

today, was so tired i had some caffiene. it wasn't that agreeable with me and i still couldn't get motivated or energized to do much but lay around.
