Pop goes the Belly!

Well, for all my complaining about not having a belly,  today was the day those complaints got put to rest!  At about 2pm this afternoon my belly popped out.  My boobs grew last night, and I guess my stomach muscles just couldn't take the strain anymore - offsetting this new breast weight, so they seem to have given up.  My co-worker even noticed I had popped from before and after our staff meeting!  Now I am sore and itchy and a little grumpy.  I guess that is what I get for wishing I had a baby belly!

We had our 18 week checkup today, and everything on the ultrasound looks good!  This was the first day that the husband saw the baby, and he was so cute - "that's a hand!  Is that the spine? etc".  The only things they couldn't really see were the lower face to check for cleft lip or pallate, so we'll have to do another ultrasound in 10 weeks (oh darn... ). Also my placenta is only 2.5 cm from the cervix and they would prefer to see 3, so they will recheck that at 10 weeks too.  Dr said it was normal at taht point b/c I am not 20 wks yet.  

Then they showed us the definitive boy parts!  My husband had been holding out for a "panda" but he says he'll settle for a human boy.

gain weight

Daddy's first Dr. Appointment!  He got to hear the heartbeat!  (166).  Dr. said that I have to gain weight by my next appointment.  Get to find out the baby's sex on September 4th!!!

Was that a Kick?

I don't know if what I felt was a kick or just some other random sensation.  If the feeling is the same once things really get moving, then this was the first day I felt the baby!  I was lying down on the bed and I felt this little weird feeling on my lower right side of my abdomen.

We'll see!
