So, I went and had my ultra sound done yesterday and then went to the doctor. They found out that the cyst is not on the left ovary, but on the right ovary and it is measuring about 6cm. My doctor said that is on the larger side. One thing she seemed concerned about was that I had the majority of my pain to the left of my belly button, but cramped all across my lower abdomen. When she pushed around it was definitely painful. She sent me for blood work to check for cancer (precaution) and she said it would show if it was endometriosis related. If the blood work comes back elevated I will have to have surgery soon. If it comes back normal (we are praying for this) then she is going to hold off for 3 weeks and then do another ultra sound to see if it the cyst shrunk. If it did not then I am facing surgery anyway. If it does shrink she is just going to keep an eye on it. The only thing I don't like is the pain. My left side does feel somewhat better, I just wish I knew why I had so much pain before. I do get twinges of pain right around my belly button and it kind of spreads out. Being on my feet makes the pain worse, today at work I had to take 2 vicodins just to get through my 10 hour day.
My other concern is surgery. I am considered obese. I have trouble losing weight, I suffer from PCOS which can affect your ability to lose weight. I do not completely blame PCOS though. I do not have a lot of selfdisaplin, this is something I need to learn. She did tell me that surgery could be more complicated for me. She did not go into detail about this, but told me that she would seriously consider me going to OSU to have my surgery robotically done, because it would be less cutting. I am nervous about it, if it comes down to that then I will talk to her more about it. She is a good doctor and I want her complete honest opinion.
