Everybody, everywhere seeks happiness, it's true,
But finding it and keeping it seems difficult to do.
Difficult because we think that happiness is found
Only in the places where wealth and fame abound-
And so we go on searching in "palaces of pleasure"
                   Seeking recognition
              and monetary treasure,
                     Unaware that happiness
                     is just a "state of mind "
                   Within the reach of everyone
                     who takes time to be kind-
                    For in making Others Happy
                      we will be happy ,too.
                                For the happiness
                                   you give away
                           returns to shine on you.

What luvly words - thank u for that Stubby - I know I try to seek happiness on the outside when I know that to be truly happy I need to feel it on the inside. Im gona copy this if u dont mind.

Go for it, Helen Steiner Rice is one of my favorite writers. She has alot printed on cards. I think in some ways it must be our nature to seek for happiness on the outside. Didn't old Eve sinned initially by grasping for better understanding by eating that Apple. There are so many other ways she could have gained that knowledge of Good and Bad. But...now we all can blame her. I also know from my pass experience that not only was my happiness not there when looking outside myself but I realized how many relationships I messed up when I trid to make them more then they should be. Have to go. Maybe we can extend this conversation later. julia
