Hi,

BACKGROUND:
I am a pretty healthy 12 year old. I currently have clinical depression and there is history of Lupus, RA, Fibro, and more autoimmune diseases in my family, along with diabetes. I am currently taking 15mg of Lexapro. I've been tested for all of my families diseases but the doctors have found nothing [unless I am coming up negative when I really am positive, but it seems unlikely due to my age].

PROBLEM:
Ok, this sounds insane but my skin is acting very strange. It's like I have constant goosebumps on my arms. Also, my skin tends to twitch a lot- not my muscle, my skin. Also, sometimes I feel a burning sensation on my skin when there is nothing to cause it. I know the twitching and burning sensations MUST be a neurological problem but for the goosebumps, I don't know. Has anyone had this happen? Did anyone get diagnosed?

It'd be great for help on both of these problems,
Shelby

Hi,
Try posting this in the dermatology forum. I remember reading a post similiar to this in that forum.
Good luck.

its not.. i have the same problem.. u have a nervous problem.. i think it is due to the depression.. because i had Exactly the same thing u had.. i kept going to the doctors and they keep telling me its nothing but i didnt think its normal.. so i asked my cousin and she said i have to take a medicine called neurobion.. but i have to warn u it has side effects.. it even mentions them on the box..
what we are facing is due to 3 things, either dehydration, depression or a nervous problem that is caused by depression..

Hi i just turned 13 and my skin twitches a lot as well. It never stops and it feels really weird and whenever i try to show someone it always goes away. matter of fact its doing it right now. This time its not going away, it was bugging me so much that i decided to look it up. Now Ive looked up skin twitching once before but it wasn't what i was looking for. But i am happy to have found this page because i have to show my parents right away. Its really bugging me and i don't know how to make it go away. I tried ignoring but that definitely has not worked because i always have to touch it when it happens for some reason. When describing it i guess you could say it is like um a heart beat under your skin that happens every where. When i let people touch it when it happens it freaks them out and they say what was that or something like that. With me my skin twitches everyday where ever i am no matter what. Its really a bid distraction with me because every time it twitches i stop what im doing and  start either looking at it or feeling it. My twitching usually last for about 25 to 30 seconds but the one thats happening right now has been going for a good 5 to 7 minutes.
IF ANYONE HAS ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT MY TWITCHING PLZ PLZ PLZ ASK ME AT LAUREN.***@**** OR IF U HAVE ANY HELPFUL TIPS OR INFORMATION PLZ CONTACT ME AT THE EMAIL ADRESS .
