Happy Father's Day Dad!  I miss you so much!

Jun 15, 2014 - 11 comments

For Father's Day, I will remember this from when I was a kid.  There are 4 girls in my family, 5 including my Mom.  No boys. My Dad used to say that he could have made a fortune if he had invested in Toilet Paper or Tampons!  I smile every time I think of that.  My poor Dad with 4 teenage daughters!  LOL!

I miss you daddy!  RIP

Thank you, Sarah.  Father's Day is always a rough one for me.  I always try to remember the good man he was.

Hugs right back at ya!

My Dad was going to the store and he asked me if I needed anything.  I hesitated and said, "Well I do but I don't know if you will buy it".  He said, "Super or Regular".  Haha, I didn't realize that he had bought them several times for my 3 other sisters.  Good old Dad, he didn't care.  Now my husband would never ever buy them.  One time I had to phone the girl at the corner store and ask her to put them in a bag, not say a word about them but that John would be over to buy them.
That was the only time he did.  I was in so much pain that I couldn't go myself.

Awww they were both great Dad's and I miss them so much.  Father's Day really is tough.

Thanks for sharing this Rissa.  I wish you peace sweetie.

Hey Pat! That's pretty funny. I wonder if men are different these days. I remember my brother in law wouldn't even buy toilet paper.  My Dad was the one who did the grocery shopping each week. I don't know why.  I guess he just liked it.  He bought hundreds of boxes of tampons, and Midol. We used to laugh, but he never cared.

Feels good to share this stuff. Thanks doll! You always make me smile and even belly laugh!

You all have made me laugh tonight.  I won't say a day is "rough" again, lolol.  Then it turns to toilet paper talk, thanks to Sarah, lololol.

I'm right there with you all.  I miss my Dad something awful today (and LOTS of days, really) but especially today.

One of my sisters beat me to the punch today and posted a duo pic of my Dad...two different shots when he was fairly young and SO HANDSOME.  I wrote on there that I am grateful that I got to bond with him the last 10 years he was on this earth....and so PROUD of him for being 25 years sober when he died.

On the tampon/TP subject.....my Dad wasn't around much when I was growing up...he was either out drinking or working.  And even if he WAS home the last thing on earth he would DO is go to the store.  There are 6 of us kids....5 girls, one boy.
I think the reason it doesn't affect men today is because we have all become so in-sensitized.  I mean really...when I was a kid...there is NO WAY in hell a woman on TV was going to go flying across my TV screen, dressed in white, doing some sport with her legs spread apart???  SEE???  How absorbent and safe these are?  You can fly thru the air with your legs apart and NO ONE will even KNOW you are "on your period"...hahahaha!

Oh well gals.....that's probably WAY off topic....but I'm real emotional today and rambling about everything it seems.

LOL, Wiki Clean!  I can remember the first time I saw a bra commercial on TV. I thought my Mom was gonna choke. God forbid we see commercials for OTHER things!  Even now some of the stuff I see on TV makes me blush!  KY Jelly, really?

Good memories, good laughs, good friends!

I hate the commercial that shows a lady in white sitting on a white couch with a white cat and she has her period.  Drives me nuts.  Or how about this one that shows up on my MH page... Hail to the V, it is a Summers Eve commercial!!

My dad was sober 23 yrs when he passed.  I so miss him  *sniff* *sniff*

Unfortunately, my dad never found the gift of sobriety.  He was always off and on.  But, he was still my Dad.

Mine didn't either Rissa.  He struggled with it so much.  I really understand him now and feel so guilty for how I treated him at times.  I wish I understood it more back then.
