I've had a white coated tongue, swollen papillaes (AKA taste buds) in the back of my tongue for months now, swollen lymph nodes, I had massive headaches and pain in one ear for about two months..which has pass now, pain in my mouth, underneath my tongue was very painful, the pain in my mouth has gone and my lymph nodes seem to not be swollen anymore..but I still have a white tongue, I also have been feeling fatigue, I've been to so many doctors, had a lot of test done, had a CT scan since I was having massive headaches and ear pain, the scan didn't show any abnormalities, went for a full STI panel, everything came back negative, HIV, Syphilis, Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, Hepatitis, UTI, didn't test for a yeast infection..but I did do the water test at home and it seems that my body has a lot of yeast, was tested for strep throat, mono, seen a dentist since they specialize in the mouth, was givin' a type of mouthwash to rinse my mouth with for a duration of ten days, no change, went to see my GP who said it looked like I had a viral infection and proscribed me 105ML PMS NYSTATIN and CIPROFLOXACIN HYDROCHLORIDE 500MG, no change, still have my white tongue, the next thing I'll be doing is seeing an oral surgeon and getting a biopsy done on my tongue

this came out of the blue?
do you relate this to a particular event?
are you a smoker?
why an oral swab for yeast has not been done in your tongue?

No, I believe my issue is caused by a sexual encounter I had months ago, I had unprotected vaginal and oral sex with a woman that I had just met, unknown sexual history. I am not a smoker, drink socially, I don't know why the doctors I have seen ruled out an oral swab to test for yeast, they might think it's very unlikely for a man to contract a yeast infection from a woman. I went to see my family doctor, he looked in my mouth and said it looked like I had a viral infection causing a yeast buildup. He proscribed me 105ML PMS NYSTATIN to help fight off the yeast and a antibiotic CIPROFLOXACIN HYDROCHLORIDE 500MG to fight off infection. taking these medications didn't do anything, I asked him what were the chances that this woman might of had HPV and passed it on to me..he said that only woman can have HPV and that males don't have the genes to contract it. I told him it was possible for a male to have HPV..he then stated in his 40 years of practicing medicine he hasn't heard of a male being diagnosed with HPV. "which you were sir" I am slowly losing enamel on my teeth, they're starting to look transparent..do to this issue, I am on a candida diet, I don't eat any dairy products, can't eat certain fruits or vegetables, I don't eat pork, I eat lean beef, chicken and turkey, I don't drink coffee or soda or juice, the only liquids I consume are water and tea. I will be going back to see my family doctor next week and asking him for a referral to see an oral surgeon to biopsy my tongue. have you done a lot of research on HPV-16, not to freak you out or anything..but I have read this is what caused actor Michael Douglas to get tongue cancer, as we all know..cancer doesn't happen overnight, it's takes years for your body to develop cancer, Michael Douglas contracted HPV-16 in his early life and only got oral cancer from it later on in life. I have read a lot about what you have..since I believe I have the same thing. I have read that if you have the HPV virus you have it for life..but if you eat healthy and exercise often..the virus could leave your system in two years. I have read most of your post..and feel like we're going through the same thing, I also have a dry mouth, I drink a lot of water to deal with this issue, I was very healthy before all of this. I am now often depressed and see myself sleeping a lot. I know I can fight this. I will not stop until I get diagnosed, If I do have HPV-16 like yourself, I will have to keep up my current diet, keep my body in shape and hope this thing will eventually leave my body and that I'll have a healthy immune system again.

I was diagnosed with HPV-16 through an oral swab, but I am not sure if this is causing my problems.

hey man, I believe HPV is definitely causing your tongue issues, when a person has HPV, their body is prone to forming bad bacteria..because their immune system is lower, hence the (white tongue)(dry mouth) if you eat a lot of dairy or yeast..you might notice your condition getting worse, this is because..dairy contains bacteria and eating too much yeast is bad because your body already has a lot causing bad bacteria to form in the body, giving you a white coated tongue. so are you on a candida diet? if not, have you tried going on one? do you exercize? you can kill this thing man, you'll always have the virus..but you can get rid of your tongue issues! but it's gonna take awhile, when it comes to HPV..doctor will try to help you as much as they can. but the reality is..there's no medication you can take that with permanently help your condition or cure HPV.
