Just came from emergency sonogram.......

Sep 03, 2009 - 11 comments

so the bleeding started again yesterday, but this morning I was cramping in my lower back, like I'm about to start a period.  I called my OB and he said to go for a sonogram.  Well the tech was not nice, she seemed like she didn't want to work, but luckily there was another screen for us the mommies to see.  I was looking at my squishy and he/she was moving, then I saw the heart flickering away and then I heard it!!! I was so relieved, and just in awe.  first time I heard it and it was at 153bpm!!!  I got pictures too.. then the doctor came in and she said that everything looks normal, 1 fetus with a normal heartbeat and there is no blood clot in my cervix or anywhere else.  They can't explain why I'm bleeding or cramping.. I have to take it easy though, no exercise, no sex and drink lots of fluids.  Hope this stops because I freak out everytime I wipe and see blood on the TP!

Yay, so happy things looked good once they checked. With my daughter I had unexplained bleeding at 13 weeks and 16 weeks. It was so scary but they could not figure out why it was happening. Rest of my pregnancy was pretty uneventful and I hope yours follows the same path. :)

Glad you got to see your bean and everything looks great!  I hope the bleeding will subside, that is a scary thing to go through!

Glad to hear all was well!! It is always so fun to see your little one. I too had bleeding at 5 weeks and 12 weeks. I was diagnosed with placenta previa, but it cleared up by 16 weeks. After that the rest of my pregnancy was very boring....just the way I wanted it!

Now would be the best time to make your hubby treat you like a queen!!! Milk it girl, milk it!!!!!!!

Take care and rest up!

Believe me Rachel, I'm going to milk it, lol!!! I had the same bleeding at 11 weeks and now again today, I didn't have any of these scares with my two girls, hopefully this will be the boy giving mommy headaches already, lol.  I ask the doctor if it could be the placenta, but she was telling me that this early they don't even call it a placenta yet, because is so small. It's just a tissue?? seriously doc, I thought the placenta took over at 12 weeks or so?/

Glad to hear you are milking it!!!!!  I am surprised your doctor will not diagnose it as placenta previa, if that is actually what is causing it! Mine was diagnosed at 12wks and yes, the placenta does take over between weeks 10-13.  Anyway the bedrest did the trick for me.  I only had to take it easy for a few days, then all was well. But being the scaredy cat I am, I did not bd my whole pregnancy! (my poor dh)

I hope you do get that boy!!!! Just remember you will always have something to hold over his head when he gets older. I plan on letting Cruz know all the fun things he did to his Mommy!!!

I also had unexplained bleeding with both of my pregnancies..and I think this time around it is because my placenta is lying lower than it should be. Doc says she hopes that as my uterus grows it will pull it up!!

I am so glad to hear everything is okay with

hang in there and take it easy!
