We had a picture postcard day weather wise, the venue was spectacular and our children showed us how very much they love each other. It was nice to be able to see all of our nearest and dearest in one place and for them to be able to share the day with us. Don't know if crossed everybody's minds but I likely will not see them again if things continue to go downhill for me. I did my absolute best not to rain on the parade.
Started chemo again on 9/23, Gemzar as a single agent. Major complaint as with all chemos I've been is constipation. If the Gemzar helps, I'll work on the poop issue and come up with some kind of a laxative combo. Bonding with my visiting nurse. She is very realistic but has an upbeat personality and chats away while draining my pleural effusion tube.
Not sure I`ll be well enough to do the Chicago trip. Heck I haven`t left the house since last Thursday. Must tame my wanderlust, too much trouble dragging oxygen tanks and suction bottles around. My mom was here today doing my laundry and keeping me company. She has not given up on a miracle yet, sweet thing that she is. Whatever gets you thru the night... to quote John Lennon.
