Please don't steal my poems. My heart and soul go into these babies. How would you like it if I stole your dog, or your grandmother? Yeah, you wouldn't. It's the same concept. Just don't do it. Kay, thanks. <3
I'm trying to write about different things. These stink. Some aren't even officially finished, they just seem to end. But whatever. :] Enjoy..
You whispered your sweet goodbye
Was it your intention
Leaving me just to die?
That’s sure what it feels like
The ground begins to shake
Those two syllables punched a hole right through me
I can feel the breeze cause me to quake
Why did you leave me?
Your words tackle me to the ground
The world washes over me like a tidal wave
Black and blue lashes me, making me drown
Won’t you be my lifeguard? Bring me back onto my feet.
(No title? Not finished?)
Whenever I’m with you
I feel like I’m in the ocean
So weightless and carefree
But then I have to snap back to reality
The wind’s so powerful and violent
Who’s to say I won’t drown?
Sometimes you’re my tidal wave
Sometimes you’re the reason I won’t be found
I’m here for my county
I hear the loud explosions miles away
My boots are caked with foreign sand
I hear the cries of lives being slayed
I’m armed with heavy machinery
A loud explosion erupts nearby
I don’t have time to run or hide
The only thing I see is the smoldering sky
I try to dodge the shots
My legs soon give out, my face meets the land
Pain overbears my body, blackness floods me
I feel a sudden grip on reality, a comrade holding my hand
I attempt to speak and sputter a few last words
My friend hushes me, “You’ll be okay, I promise”
I cough and groan in agony, “My legs… the smoke”
I’m here for my county. I know I’ll be missed
The smoke fills my lungs and covers my eyes
My wife, my kids, I never got to say goodbye..
My breathing slows, my surroundings fade
Another soldier cries, “You stay with me! You can’t die!”
I was there for my county. I died for my county
I died in my best friend’s arms.
I’m a hero. I know I’ll live forever in America’s heart
Now you deal with no harm
