Question for ladies who have had tubal ligation

Aug 17, 2015 - 4 comments

My cycles have never been regular. The only time they have is when I've been on the pill. The last cycle I had before having tubal ligation done was 51 days long.

But I've noticed since having it done, my cycles are becoming more normal. I used to have on average a 40+ day cycle. Over the last few months it has gone from 40+ to 32.

I also had an endometrial biopsy done at the same time.

So my question is: Has this happened to anyone else? Or am I just weird?

I had my tubal done with my C-section, so it's not the same scenario as you. I also had pretty regular cycles prior to pregnancy. I had some wackiness with my cycles since Xavier has been born, but I'm sure that was stress related as they've since gone back to normal.

My 2 cents would be that a change to your hardware (i.e. tubes) wouldn't have an affect on your software (i.e. hormones/cycles). It may just be a happy coincidence!

I was thinking that too...wondering how it would be possible just from that.

But then I remembered that she did an endometrial biopsy at the same time. Maybe it's more of a possibility that had something to do with it. Like maybe my endometrial lining was a little thick, so taking some of that away made the difference. Who knows

Maybe you aren't as stressed out lately either! Did your cycles stress you out because you didn't want to TTC?

No I don't think so hollus. I would say a strong possibility that was the case if I haven't had super long cycles since I was a teen. I remember going at least 2 months without a period in my teens
