I have had vascular issues (veins constrict, darken, and throb in chest, arms, and arches of feet causing anxiety) and tendon/ligament injuries with little provocation that take forever to heal for the past 4 years.  In the past 4 months my disease accelerated.  I spontaneously developed elbow pain and back pain (and later knee pain and peripheral neuropathy in the ulnar nerves of the elbows).  I have little swelling but lots of pain in tissue near joints, aching joints, and cracking joints.  I had my ANA tested and it was 1:320 with homogeneous pattern consistently.  I am in a diagnostic limbo known as Undifferentiated Connective Tissue Disorder (UTCD){sometimes called MTCD}.  This means either psoriatic arthritis or lupus or some other auto-immune condition.  My options are either methotrexate (20mg/week) or Cellcept.  Plaquenil can be added to these.  Prednisone is used in the short term to keep you moving until the other medicines kick in but is harmful long term.  I have improved moderately in the 3 weeks since going on 10mg/day prednisone and methotrexate (currently 17.5mg/week with target dose 20mg/week).  I have Cellcept and prefer it to MTX in concept but I am waiting to switch to Cellcept until I am in a more sterile setting than my family member's house.
