Having hsv2 increases your risk for contracting hiv significantly :( Now granted, your partner has to have hiv in the first place, it's not something that just because you have hsv2, it's going to come out of nowhere to infect you, but it's certainly something to keep in mind, especially with new partners. If you aren't sure of a partner's status, use a condom. Don't just ask if they get tested and trust their response either - that's really naive! Until you know them enough to trust them or have seen actual test results, use a condom !
