Head start

Sep 02, 2010 - 1 comments

I have to say that my daughter beginning head start has been an adventure. Between her being around a ton of kids for the first time, getting up at least 2 hours earlier than she used to, going to be an hour earlier, opening the lines of communication between the teacher and I, and having to ask for my daughter to go to speech therapy more often, I am one pooped mama. There was more, but, it has long been forgotten by now. I am happy to say, that after talking to the teacher today, I have found out that my daughter is super friendly and outgoing. That, besides a little bit of a hard time sharing in the beginning, she is doing wonderful and gets along with everyone. I am so relieved. Now we have to work on recognizing our written name, and listening to the teacher a little better. The listening is attributed to not understanding what she hears all the time. She tunes out when she gets a little lost. Other than that she is doing really good with her development and I couldn't be more proud. Right now she is only going to speech therapy once a week for 30 minutes at school. I didn't think that was enough and all I had to do was bring it up to the teacher and she is going to let them know and we are going to see about it being much more often. I am satisfied, and could not be happier. =D

I don't know your daughters story but it's great to hear that things are going well and that you are pleased with the progress and outcome.
