Just the day I decided to take a proactive approach to getting healthier and being accountable for my own well-being and happiness through this site, I break up with my boy friend.
After a lot of crying and talking and crying on both parts, we agreed to continue and try to fix things. But once the motions subsided a bit he tells me:
"I don't want to sound superficial, but could you lose some weight? I will be more attracted to you"
I feel he doesn't understand how deeply unnerving that comment was. I am even doubting if I want to be with a person who is so concerned with my physical appearance, not once did he mention health or wellness.
He is 2 years younger than me (24) and I kinda understand his superficiality, I was a bit like that myself too at that age.
What do you guys think?
How so I tell him that those comments just make me feel worse about myself potentially stopping any weight loss?
is it even worth it?
