This scared the living **** outta me

so last night i laid awake in my bed, tossing and turning.i wasn't sure why i was having a hard time falling asleep. then after i'd been laying there for about 45 minutes, i heard a clinging noise. it sounded like silverware on a dish. it freaked me out to no end because i knew there was a bowl on the floor i had just eaten from with a spoon in it. and i didn't know what was causing the noise. i summoned up all the bravery i have and sat up and peeked over and to my complete shock i saw my cat licking out the rest of the bowl. okay i know that doesn't sound like anything, but i had NO idea she was in the room. she had been hiding out under the bed not making a sound. also keep this in mind, i share my room with my 5 month old.. not only that, but everytime i allow the cat in the room under my supervision, she jumps in the crib. i used to check under the bed before we went to sleep everynight, but i never saw a cat under there so i stopped checking

i didn't quite realize the gravity of what just happened until i scooped her up and put her out. but then it sunk in. if i hadn't have been tossing and turning when i normally fall asleep quickly, she would have gotten out from under the bed and jumped in that crib like she always does; possibly trying to snuggle with my daughter because my cat is a big snuggler.

WOW! How creepy...the sound I mean. I get scared crapless when I hear stuff at night and I'm the only one awake.

It's a good thing you were awake! Sneaky kitty!!

Nothings as scary as thinking someone is in your house.  Especially when hubby works the night shift.  So what do I do?  I call the police and tell them someone is in the house.  Well they get officers on the scene and tell me to remain hiding in my closet with my kids until the police arrives.  Only to find out it was the ice maker.  LOL  LOL  LOL!!! Atleast you didn't call the police.......

haha ya well i quickly discovered it was my cat. but it wasn't the bowl that freaked me out. it was that i would normally have been asleep and the cat always jumps in her crib with her.
