I can't believe what is happening here,It's like a flood of biblical proportions.

We are ok at the moment, but it is very wet,all areas around us are affected,at least 7 people are dead, this is expected to rise considerably as daylight hits,My hopes are the death toll is not as bad as feared.
My daughters in-laws are caught in the flooded area and can't get home.It is a huge disaster, worst of all there is no end in sight to this rain.
We had over a years rainfall in less than a month, the ironic thing is we are called the sunshine state.

My prayers are with all the people that are suffering at this time.I am also praying for this rain to stop.

We got some water in downstairs but nothing to worry about,
An area larger than the state of Texas is under water, people have been washed away in the torrents of water.
I'm waiting to hear how the worst affected areas made it through the night, all rescue choppers were grounded until daylight.

Oh, this is really terrible.  I'm sorry.  These weather patterns and extremes don't make sense and are terrifying.  I hope the death toll is not as bad as predicted and touches no one you know.  Stay safe.  Peace.

I hadn't heard about this. I'm sorry you're going through this, wow!

We seem to be getting wacky weather everywhere. I have a friend who lives in Alabama who said they got 6 inches of snow, very, very unusual for the south. We've broken some records for high temperatures this last year.
And the deal with the birds dying, the fish and crabs, I think is downright weird. They still haven't totally figured all that out.
I hope you all stay safe and dry! Take care!

Narla,  prayers for you.  I've lived through severe hurricanes, and then later torrential flooding here in Austin Texas  - where water runs downhill and fills houses and floats busses full of people downstream in an instant in torrential rainfall - but it looks like what you're seeing is worse than what I've ever seen.

Water is such a force.  It's shocking and terrifying.  It's like fire!

Prayers that your home will be okay.    We're about to  replace many of  our floors from recent  flood damage.

They are putting alerts on TV and radio on who has to evacuate,so far we are still ok,But we are now getting more storms and areas only 20 to 30 minutes away from us are being evacuated.

I hope you can weather the storm this time, Narla.  Poor old Logan City seems to get the worst of the Gold Coast weather coming across the ranges.  We are in one of the lowest lying areas of the coast & the water comes up to our top step but so far the drains have been coping.

We have baby grand nieces & nephews in Toowoomba but thankfully they are all ok so far.

Best wishes.

How scary narla I'm sorry that you guys are going through this..the weather patterns are quite freaky, to say the least. the ground here is so saturated that we're starting to have flooding problems too, but luckily the rain's on it's way out for the next week or so...our yard was beginning to flood something awful, and all the ditches are full to the road level, when normally in winter we're very dry and mild...this winter has been very wet (we even had snow!) and very very cold...I don't even have to say how unusual that is for FL.

Please keep us updated, my prayers are with you and I sure hope you guys stay safe and dry!

The latest update,The Brisbane river is due to peak tomorrow,My friend who lives in Brisbane says it is like a ghost town
She is ok because she lives on the 3rd floor of an apartment block,
Most people close to the Brisbane River are leaving,
Ipswich City is supposed to also peak tomorrow at 20 to 22 metres,That is higher than the devastating 1974 floods,That city is 20 minutes from us,Brisbane is 30 minutes,We are hoping the Logan river doesn't break it's banks.

Death toll is now 10 with 78 still missing

My prayers go out to everyone affected.
