I'm asking for prayers for my son.  He called the other night from boot camp.  He sounded exhausted and very depressed.  He said that there was a lot of yelling going on.  I'm worried because he has such a gentle soul.  I know it is their job to break him down and bring him build him back up as a group.  I pray that God gives him the mental strength to do so.  I am soo proud of him...yet as his mother I do worry.  I won't be able to talk with him for 2 more weeks.  The waiting is very difficult to say the least.

He is in the navy.  He will be a petty officer when he comes out of boot camp in 8 more weeks.  Then they send him to Pensacola without a leave to go home for 10 months.  He will then have his BA in engineering.  He will be an aviation engineer.  I miss him sooo very much!

Please take the time to say a prayer for him!  He is doing something for our country and I couldn't be more proud!!!

Hi Bluebird, Your son will definitely be added to my prayer list! Boot Camp is very rough but something that they are yelling about might save his life one day.Packages from home mean so much to them mom so dig that old fudge recipe out (no, that would melt right now would'nt it) He will have a good carreer when he gets home. I have both of you in my prayers. Take Care

Bless your son.  I will keep him in my thoughts and prayers.  I cannot imagine it would be easy to have him so far away and out of sight for so long, but I truly believe those that serve in the military are real hero's.  He is serving for a cause greater then himself.  I have no doubt he is a very good man.

Praying.  I know the feeling. My son is in the Marines. He made it through boot camp but it was hard on him as well as all of us.

Thank you ALL sooo much for your kind words and prayers!  Yes...it is difficult being a mom of a soldier.  It's kind of a double edge sword.  I am incredibly proud...yet scared at the same time.  I know he will do well...I just hope he doesn't lose his beautiful spirit.  He will be an aviation engineer.  I can't believe just how much I miss his laugh and beautiful smile.  My oldest son was in the Army National Gaurd.  Boy...I thought it would be easier the second time around.  It really isn't.
