Attention Moms to be who are college students - advice please!

Aug 25, 2011 - 4 comments

I'm not sure how many of you out there who are currently pregnant who are also college students but I'm looking for some advice.

My classes start September 7th (my wedding anniversary) and I'm trying to figure out if I do get pregnant will I be able to handle these classes or should I forget it?

Right now I'm registered for 4 - however, I will probably just narrow it down to two. One is online, so I will probably keep that and possibly a Saturday class.  I feel really torn about what I should do.  I know I have to probably compromise but I'm thinking maybe I'll be able to manage the two.

What do you think ladies?

YOU CAN DO IT!

I am not in college now but when I was pregnant with my first child (who started college himself on Monday), I was in law school, taking 16 credits, then had to study for the bar exam with a newborn (he actually came to the bar exam with me because he was nursing so I would test from 8-12, nurse him during the lunch break and continue the test from 1-5).

I am 45 now and practicing law full time and in fact had an 11 hour trial just two weeks ago.

You may be a little tired in the first trimester but get as much of your education finished before you are chasing a toddler because at that point, you will definitely have a hard time fitting your education into your schedule.  All of us in this TCC group are tough with all that we have been through.  Go for it!

Thank you! I was hoping someone would say that.  I'm only 10 classes away from graduating.  I made the mistake of taking the summer off, thinking I would be pregnant - I don't want to do that again.  I keep putting things off because of the "what ifs" - (

I know that it will get harder to finish with a toddler, that's for sure.

Wow Law school - you go girl!  I'm impressed! :-))

I finished up the semester in May & will go back ??????  not sure when.  I was 3 months by may & was having trouble fitting in desks. LOL  I also would usually have to park really far.  I would never have made it if I took summer classes.
If you can try online.

I think I will probably do one class online and go to one at the campus.  At least that's what I'm thinking now.  Kricket - you made me laugh with the trouble fitting in the desk, that's cute.  Maybe I'm just over thinking everything right now.  Thank you!
