Okay- they removed over a liter of fluid yesterday- I feel so skinny! lol I know the amniotic fluid is the babies pee- but I don't know why I thought it would look different- I guess I expected it to be pink with glitter since I am having girls!!! but no- it was just a huge bottle of urine- yuck. They got me down from 11 cm to somewhere between 7 and 8 cm. Still a little at the high side- but I was glad they did not take too much. The dr and staff were wonderful. I was a mess until about 1/2 way through when I finally relaxed.
So far so good. I have not really had any side effects other than a little spotting but hopefully I am done with that. Of course, I had to call the emergency line.
The little baby that was being smooshed by the bigger babies amniotic sac was moving like crazy when it was over. I think she was happy!!! The other funny thing- they were both swatting at the pipe- when they put it in- there is a needle- but then they take it out so it is just like a straw. It was funny- but it also hurt. I guess they heard the noise!?!?!
Basically- they did an amiocentis- but then just kept going to remove fluid. Now they are running the amnio tests and some other tests on the fluid. I am just praying there are not any negative consequences but they said immediately after things looked fine. We go back Tuesday and fly home Tuesday night.
Last week I really felt like i was coming to Philly with 2 babies and possibly leaving with just one- but now I feel better. We still are not out of the woods- especially since they do not really know the cause of our issue.
For now- I am just thankful on so many levels. I am feeling more like myself. I am still praying and hoping for a miracle- but aren't we all.
Thank you, you have no idea what your support meant to me!
