pregnancy over 35

Ok ladies, I naively decided to show the pix to d in laws and SIL jumps in again and ruins it for me.
she pointed out an empty circle on the baby's forehead and said its "not normal"

what do u think that is? I'm getting worried.
any1 had such a thing in an u/s pic?

Thanks in advance!

Don't worry about it there are a lot of odd bubbles and spots in the 3D/4D ultrasounds....babies face looks pushed against the placenta or uterine wall in that picture (notice how it looks mashed) and it's probably just a folded part of whatever the head is resting against.

I wouldn't worry for a second!

I seriously don't know why she keeps on doing that to me! and I keep falling for it cuz she's an OB!..the last time she told me I had excess amniotic fluid n freaked me out, asked the Dr at my previous appointment he said there's nothing wrong with the fluids n that everything is normal!

Thanks Ashelen, u always gimme good news! :)

it could be a water bubble, a shadow, maybe baby passed gas LOL....if something was wrong and your doc would have seen that or even be worried, they would have told you, 3D u/s pick up a lot more than the normal one's as well, and honestly it does not look like it is "part of" your baby. . . . it looks like a water bubble it has no color really or darkened if you will. I think everything is fine....(: good luck xx

P.s I went to college for nurse assistant and we learned all about everything and one thing i learned about nursing is we do not know everything! And even if she is OBGYN, she is not God......and dont listen to her, she is not your doc she did not read over the results or check the stat of u/s.........if i were you, i would just let it go in one ear and out another girl.....if your really worried, ask your doc at your next appointment, he will prob tell you the same thing :-)

btw, i am sure you SIL is not perfect lookin either, your baby is a perfect girl, she prob just jealous. . . .

Iam really starting to dislike your sil... Ugghhh dont listen to her odviously she is just looking for anything to pick on.  She wants to upset u for what I hear.  Your baby is beautiful and healthy.  Your dr is the one thats been following you from the bigining, he/she wouldve said something.  For me it looks like he has his forhead against a glass door. Lol He is soooooo cute... Dont show anything else to your stupid sil.  Hugs!!!!

I know I should b stronger but no matter how hard I try it never works. lol Will try to get the negatives out of my way and enjoy whats left off of my pregnancy!

love the "passing gas" part btw! haha

dont let your SIL to interfere in your n't listen to her...if any thing was wrong your doctor would have told you....and 3D pictures are usually come this way with circles or bubbles.....but you need not to worry..just ignore her comments

DO NOT WORRY. If it were truly troublesome the dr would have said something as they are obligated to do so. Odds are it's not even on her face but rather something 'floating' by or a smudge... sounds like she's just a jealous person. My sons had all sorts of weird stuff on their pics and they are fine!

Just tell her not to give you any more advice. Give her a consequence/punishment if she ever pipes up again! That's what I would do. I gotta say from the moment I got pg everyone started trying to run my life for me. I got bombarded with advice and people were SO angry when I didn't listen to them. Some were mad I was seeing a midwife, others were angry I breastfed, my MIL was mad my DD didn't eat meat right away, and then someone was mad I had 2 cats that were around my DD. My sissy always says "Everyone gets to be your daughter's parents, except her actual parents!" It's one of the most frustrating things about being a parent! I don't take it anymore, I just put my foot down and tell people right out I'm the mom and in the end it's my decision because I know her best!

Thanks Ladies, I'm usually very assertive when it comes to life matters but the journey to pregnancy wasn't easy at all as most of us here on MH, its turned me into an extremely vulnerable person who's ready to take advice and listen to the slightest negative comment rather than look forward to what the future has for me. I'v become this scared worrywart who's always anticipating the worst out of life, hence believing any negative comment that comes out of every1. unfortunately she knows that..and has been using it against me..every week I c her she has a new addition to my misery..u Ladies and MH r the best thing that has EVER happened to me — no kidding.

Thanks for the best advice, support and sharing ur strength with me..

Love u all!

My son's 4d ultrasound looked like he had a huge hole in his head. As soon as it came on the screen the tech said it was nothing to worry about. Sometimes the 4D ultrasounds do that.  He turned out fine and his head is all there. :). If I can find the pic I'll post it for you so you can see there is nothing to worry about.

Oh, look at that sweet little face!  He's gorgeous!

I think your sil needs to cease and desist.  We did a couple of 3D ultrasounds and of course all the normal ultrasounds you get, and every one of them looked like there was a hole somewhere, or a bump where their shouldn't be....I remember one that we laugh at so hard now because DH took one look and said "omg, he has 3 legs.." lol.  But at the time the tech had to explain that the umbilical cord can look that way sometimes.  Point is, the others are right.  Babies angle, position, plus the placenta and all the little bubbles and stuff that happens in there does show on us and can look odd.   And in my experience, if the Dr or tech see something they are concerned about, even if it's a remote chance of something being wrong, they tell you and will do a repeat or further testing.  I'm no Dr., but I am betting everything is just fine.  Next time she does something like this, nod your head, say thank you very much, and put it out of your mind.

Wait until baby is born.  It seems everyone has something to say then about when certain milestones should be reached, what your doing wrong (in my case I had a sil that pretty much decided I was doing everything wrong..she's in the medical field as well).  Ignore that too.  People just like to have input I think.

Your little one is beautiful!  Can't wait to read the birth story and see the first photos on him on the outside..!  All the best.

I'm sorry your SIL is causing you problems. I agree with the girls, it could be an air bubbles or just alittle toot bubble (hehe!). From what I can see your little one looks perfect. If there was something wrong, the Ultrasound Tech and your Doc would have mentioned something. I wish I could get a 4D of my baby. I can't afford it and the closest one is up in Portland, about 2 hours away.

Thanks Ladies, I don't know why I totally forgot that I HAVE a Dr who's practically a high risk Dr. and a specialist in fetal development! the brain sees what it wants to c..and with all the scares I'v had so far I guess I don't feel lucky enuf to enjoy this pregnancy lol. Glad I have ppl like U in my life to lift me up and show me WHEN I shud gather myself up!

Adgal, thanks for the advice, nice to know there's some1 ese out there with an SIL whos extremely opinionated while NOT knowing what she's talking about LOL.

I'm so looking forward to meeting this lil guy! 7 weeks and counting..its a blessing that we jsut can't b thankful enuf for!

love ya all!

My mom always told me, "If the doc isn't worried, you don't worry. When the doc worries, then you worry."

So if doc isn't sweating, I wouldn't either. Your SIL sounds like a real drag, drama queen and just not pleasant person.
