Week 5

Nov 19, 2011 - 8 comments

Today starts the beginning of week and the addition of VIC.

I have been incredibly blessed for my 1st month. Minor side effects and no loss of work. The last week I have started to get tired and my stamina is greatly reduced, but if I pace myself, I am functional. HGB is at 12.3 and WBC 2.3

Determined to stay strong and tough!!

Yes, congratulations to you Vannh for a great start to your triple tx.  How lucky you are to have been able to work throughout the tx.  The power of positive thinking definitely works!  I am just ending my week 6, therefore I have had 2 weeks of the VIC and really I have not noticed much more of a difference in side effects.  I had trouble from week two with breathing but the VIC has not made it any worse....just part of the journey with Pegasys.  I had the same trouble last tx so I expected it.  Want to wish you a great week and keeping you in my prayers that you continue your tx with minimal side effects.

Sincerely, Anita

Hi Vann!  Glad to hear your are getting through this.  My biggest issue with the VIC is nausea.  Couldn't quite put my finger on it at first, so I didn't do anything.  When I was in the hospital for the transfusion, I asked for some Zofran via I.V.  Wasn't sure at the time if it helped, but I went ahead and requested a prescription from my doc.  It has really made a difference for me, especially in a working setting.  Anyway.......hoping you will come through with flying colors and continued minimal sides :)

Anita-Thanks for sharing your experience. It gave me hope that the sides won't change much for me either. I can hope and pray...right? I also know that journey is guided by my Lord. Thanks for the prayers and know that I will be praying for you too:-)

Bee- you have certainly had quite a journey and I have been praying for YOU! I hope that things are easier for you! Thank you for your kind words and thoughts

Hugs to you all!

Day one was hard.....the taste and nausea were bad and I was so darn emotional....it is hard traveling this journey as a single Mom...both of my parents are dead so the loneliness is hard. I have my faith and know that I am going through this for a reason. I am grateful I have insurance and a job....counting my blessings~
