Amana's Small Hole in her Heart........

Jan 24, 2012 - 0 comments

The paediatric cardiologist told us that she does indeed have a heart murmur due to a congenital heart defect (Ventricular septal defect with patent foramen ovale) and a small hole in her heart which is 1.5-2 mm in length. Usually they close up on there own but the problem is that Amana's is where there is connective tissue and the holes that close are located on the heart muscle.

We have an appointment in three months to observe whether it has become larger. We hope that it doesn't and that it closes with alot of prayers and hope. The worst-case scenario is surgery at the age of 3-4 years to close the hole if it gets bigger. If it remains small in size, she will not be able to participate in high-performance sports or go scuba diving. I hope and pray that it closes and everything will be fine with my sweet little girl........................
