I had an FNA done b/c I have multiple nodules. The Dr. told me that I had a very odd shaped thyroid. I was warned that there was a 1/15 % chance that results would be inconclusive. The procedure was more painful than I expected. Although I told them in advance that in the past it has taken excessive doses of novicaine to numb me and the ultrasound technician assured me that they would make sure I was numb before I started, that was not the case. The 1st (left side) seemed much less painful. The second side, I was given to shots and not enough time for it to kick in. It was very uncomfortable.
