Scopy Please?

Today I had an upper endoscope.  It was a breese.  Take someone with you who will remember everything! (because you will not.)

The doctor said everything looked fine. He will send the report to two other doctors
Now I have to wait.. for what I don't know.  I do know there were 3 or 4 pictures taken that were shuffled away when I mentioned them.  Humm...

First I was under the impression everything looked normal (why did he take pictures then?)  Now I find out that there were tissue samples sent to be biopsied.  I wish I could have spoken for myself better... like demanding to know about those pictures.  (don't hate me because I'm curious.)

If they are going to give you drugs that give you amnesia doctors should send notes home with the patient.

Good luck with your results. I have an upper endoscope scheduled for this Friday! I had one once before and I remember forgetting a lot too. I hope things work out for you!!!

Biopsies are just a normal part of the procedure even when everything looks fine. No worries! You'll probably get copies of the pics at your followup appointment. If not, the doctor should have them on hand and show you what everything is at that time.

I found out on Friday that taking a biopsy is normal. They took one for me too. They take it to rule out H-Pylori a bacteria that can cause ulcers. It turns out I have an ulcer in the intestine just outside my pouch. If it does not clear up in 3 months - surgery for me! So, I'm hoping it clears up with medication!
