Started tx. = bx results...

Nov 14, 2008 - 3 comments

I started tx on 11/13/08, fairly uneventful except for a short rush of sx,s in the evening.  The bx that was done like on 10/27/08 showed zero stage and grade 2.  What puzzles me is in June 2005 I had a biopsy and it showed a stage 1 to focally 2 fibrosis and grade 1.  Seems a little strange to me, has this ever happened to anyone else?

I would think that my biopsy would have come back the same or a little worse, but not better like it did in the case of stage...

Congrats to finally starting my friend!!! I wish you all the best with your treatment and really hope that you will be spared from too much suffering. As to your bx. I looked at several results of my Stepmother a while ago and grade diminished from 2 back to 1. She has had about 4 biopsies and the last bigger sample showed improvement. The last time she had a major stomach operation and they cut a little piece of the liver, while they were in there. So maybe it is possible. Or maybe the different parts of the liver are affected differently.

Hugs, Marcia

Well thanks for shedding some light on this subject for me.  It really doesn't change anything as far as me txing because I have too many symptoms from the HepC, so I would've tx'ed no matter what.  Maybe I will never really know except maybe bx's are like blood test as in different manufacturers have different reference ranges.  I don't know, in my particular case the stage and grade don't apply that much, since I have so many symptoms by becoming toxic so easily and having the HepC attack my osteoarthritis in such an excruciating manner I have no choice but to tx.  That doesn't include my fat hands and fat feet.  lol  take care friend

Hi!

I was  wondering if it is possible or if you know how to contact Rockerforlife. I called the trial you guys are in and I was told they would be in contact. I'm newly diagnosed and am looking to clinical trials as I have no job or insurance for over a year now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks  !!!!
