Squeaky, my new family member has been dissappearing the last 3 nights for 3-4 hours.  I was frantic, did I miss something on the floor, did I let her out accidently, etc..... Well I got my nerves frazzled, my body crawling, reaching, things thrown out that I didn't know I had.  Well....we found her hiding hole.  she has been climbing up th back of my hubby's dresser and crawling into one of his drawers.  We will have to reinforce the bottom.  However it is safe, big enough for her to climb into.  It is an older dresser that belonged to his mom.  Anyway I don't have to worry about her.  She has been showing her independence.  If I pick her up she gets down.  If I ignore her she climbs onto my lap.  She is teaching me alot of patience.  A good therapy cat. I am so glad I have her.

Now why didn't I think of that? My cat does the same thing. We have a bed with underdrawers and she crawls into the drawers. That's how she takes out my husband's socks and walks around with them in her mouth, depositing them all over the house, lol. We're always having to pick up socks in our house!

That's the beauty about pets, the therapy part.  Apparently Waldo got his name from the famous book series. That's what the previous owner told me when I asked about his name. It's pretty fitting. He will find hiding spaces, but they tend to be predictable. If there's a heat source, or it's by the kitchen, chances are that you'll find him.

Cats can get into the most unusual places.  I can remember opening the dresser drawer and finding Icepick when he was a kitten.  His mother gave birth in a box in the back of my closet.  Recently, I was freaking out because I couldn't find Anakin - he was sleeping on top of the hot water heater.  My all time favorite (but potentially dangerous) was finding both cats in the washing machine - empty at the time except of cats.  We have to keep everything closed.

April - now you know where that sock that always seems to be missing from the dryer really goes  lol

Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences with cats.  I do agree they can find the best places to disappear to.  I got the cutest picture of squeaker standing on hind feet at the ejection site of my copier waiting for a page to come out.  I didn't copy anything at that time as I really don't want her to explore my computer.  She is so funny, I have really enjoyed her the last 2 days.  She has been my little shadow.  She loves the cat nip bubbles.  I love watching her chase them then look for them when they disappear.  I have a big day tommorrow so need to check my other e-mail.  If I can ever get my pictures posted you will see her personality.  Hope everyone has a great night and a good Friday.
