My GYN made me mad.

After being on Premarin then Estradiol for 26 years my (NEW) GYN wants to pull me off my hormones because she disagrees with them and says its a natural part of life. I had a hysterectomy at 23 and double oophorectomy and age 33. There is nothing natural about it. I told her she's not the one that has to deal with the hot flashes or the vaginal atrophy, vaginal dryness, hair loss, etc. Loss of sex life. She just royally pissed me off. My husband said she is fired and we will find someone to give me my hormones.

I had a Hysterctomy at age 34  and I am now 76  ..........I got off all the Hormone replacements when I was in my 40"S  .I was glad I did.It didn't hurt me at all my hot flashes even subsided earlier than I thought.I did not gain tons of weight as people have heard. I feel very healthy and am glad I got off of those Hormones////Your Doctor is only trying to warn you of the problems you could have down the road.Listen to him.......

BS... She is right about her being the one that is suffering. I also had a hysterectomy at 33 and then a double oophorectomy a few years later and it has been hormone hell every since.. I get the most relief with the injectable hormones but they are expensive and most insurance companies wont pay for them or for the RN to inject them (I learned to inject my own and paid out of my own pocket). Surgical menopause is much, much more severe than normal menopause and in some people like the lady above, it never gets better. Yes there are risks and you do have to balance how you feel with the amount of risk you are willing to take. I am thinking about you and pray you find another GYN who will actually LISTEN to the patient...
