I don't know what is more appalling, what this poor man went through....or the comments by the totally misinformed public after the article.  Just wow.

That poor man had to endure jail, and now is a registered sex offender.  WHY?  Because some guy who he hooked up with now has regrets that he didn't ASK what the partner's status was BEFORE engaging in a sex act??  Where is the sense of accountability anymore?  It sickens me, it really does.  A consenual sexual encounter is always going to involve risk,....no one is responsible for other people's well being....only ONESELF is.

YES, I believe a person who is infected should absolutely reveal their status to any possible sexual partners, but that does NOT remove the accountability from the other partner.  Not at all.  It's a two-way street.

This guy knew oral was not a risk, and he used a condom for the anal.  The infected partner has a moral responsibility to disclose their status, but when it comes to a consensual hook up, it should always be assumed that the partner could be infected.  Again, responsibility for ONE self.  To blame and finger point is the way of the world today...and it's SO sad.  NO one takes responsibility for their actions anymore.

Sad sad state of affairs.  I pray that this guy gets exonerated, an apology, and restitution for what he's been through.
