My DH and DD left for China on 8/9. They will be there for 3 weeks, visiting my DH's family. Aiden and I miss them very much. Luckily, my parents are here to help out, but I still feel kind of on my own. They are a big help, but they are both over 70 yrs old and tire easily. They are done for the night at about 7pm and don't feel ready to help out until about 7:30-8am. I love my little boy, but it's hard to be the sole caretaker for 18 hours a day. Aiden is a little sweetheart, but he is getting to the fussy stage now. The 2 nights after DH and DD left, Aiden was`up and fussy from 2:30am to 6am straight. I just about lost my mind. No help. Just me, alone with Aiden in the middle of the night. Thankfully, Aiden has decided to have his fussy times during the day for the past couple of days.
Aiden is sleeping on my chest now, and he is the most adorable baby. I just love these newborn peaceful times. It is challenging, but when I snuggle with Aiden, he is my whole world. Aiden is having more alert time now--still not a lot, but he loves to study my face (and I swear he smiles at me a couple of times a day). He also loves his shapes mobile and the ceiling fans. I see him looking at the patterns on my shirts and robes while he is nursing, too. Such a special time, to watch him gradually wake up to the world.
