On July 31st I had my scheduled c section.. Luckily. she didn't try to come any earlier.... I was scheduled to be in the OR at 11am.. Due to an emergency I got bumped to noon which I didn't mind as I had no sleep the night before and with all the fluids from the IV i was wanting a nap.. lol Noon rolled around and they came in to get me, we started to get extremely excited as my DF was born at 12:29pm we thought she would be born at the same time... They had a hard time getting my spinal in, it hurt so bad.... once they did, the entire experience was absolutely amazing!!! When my OB's assistant came in and introduced himself I was completely floored..... As soon as he said his name, I knew exactly who he was.. HE DELIVERED ME!!!!! this man is an extremely well respected surgeon here.... I never thought in a million years he would be there to help deliver my daughter as he is now in his 80's! But, he now does casual on call c-sections... So, not only did I get to have MY ob but, I got to have a man that is well loved and highly respected by my family... (he saved my life as a newborn) but, that's another long story in itself lol ..... I remember telling my DF that my OB was a very quiet man unless spoken too.. Well, he made me look like a fool LOL...... As soon as DF walked in my OB was teasing him and giving him a hard time because I told my OB if we have a girl DF is getting a vasectomy.. So, the OB was pulling his lef about genders.. I didn't feel like I was in an OR at all!! At 12:41pm, Savannah Faith was brought into this world.. She came out perfect colour and absolutely beautiful weighing in at 6lb 14oz of perfect... She scored perfect on her APGAR as well... This c section experience was completely different then with my son.. with him it was a small operating room and completely uncomfortable.. with her, it was absolutely perfect... I got to watch them weigh her, measure her (19.5 inches), check her for everything then my DF got to sit back down beside me with our angel in his armsl... With my son, as soon as they took him out of me, they left the operating room... I didn't get to see him until he was about an hour old... only for a couple seconds... The hospital my daughter was born in, have a rule.. Once the baby is born, he or she does not leave the eyesight of Mom and or Dad from the second of birth until you leave. After everything I went through this pregnancy, the day of her birth made up for it all!
If you remember, I had a 2 vessel umbilical cord... So, for precaution they do an u/s to check the kidneys.... She had that today and everything looks great!!!
