Third time is a charm - Ceanothus Journal of Hep C Treatment Journals

Three weeks post-EOT

I'm feeling 100 times better mentally now. If feels like my normal IQ has returned to me after a long absence, and I'm able to react quickly enough to again be an active participant in conversations with my sharper friends. It feels wonderful, though I am getting a little impatient for my physical sx to subside. I'm needing about 10 hours of sleep per day, I still have intestinal problems, coughing & wheezing, skin issues and excessive bruising. I'm also dealing with a big increase in my chronic pain. It's unrelated to the HCV, and precedes it by several years, but it had been much reduced during tx, so I was able to cut my pain meds by about 66% during tx. Now the pain is returning with a vengeance! I should have anticipated this, as I've noticed a big reduction in pain in the past whenever I've had a major physical trauma (major surgery, severe acute illness, or previous HCV treatments) and in spite of all my fervent hopes it always returns after the trauma subsided. If only I could turn those endorphins up on command!

I am sorry you are still dealing with your chronic pain.  Hopefully after you become SVR you can get that addressed and resume to your true self.  Feeling 100X mentally is an excellent start!

Best to you!

I'm so glad to hear your mind has returned ! Welcome back. Sorry about the pain. I'm not going to offer advice as I know you know how to deal with this.
Best of luck in continuing to de-tox.

The mind is a wonderful thing to reacquire.  Endorphins, the body's natural pleasure treat.
I am anxious for that mental exhilaration as well.
Good luck on pain managament and enjoy the new  discussional challenges.  (I like making up words)
