So Saturday early evening my husband took Daniella to our bed to take a nap...very nice as I decided to take a nice long shower and relax for a bit.
I went in to check on them and chuckled at myself because they looked so cute sound asleep together...I turned around and headed toward the kitchen when I heard a LOUD crash and saw a huge cloud of dust. I ran into the bedroom where they were sleeping and some of the ceiling had fallen down on them as they were sleeping!
I immediately picked up the baby and she was covered in dust head to toe and wasn't crying...she wouldn't even wake up but I could hear her sleeping/snoring. She, thankfully only had a few scratches from the debris. My husband took most of the brunt and had tons of cuts and scrapes and bumps. It could have been soooo bad! I looked at the pieces of ceiling that had fallen and they were heavy heavy plaster pieces along with sheetrock (the house was built in 1922) full of nails....can't even imagine if ...I'm not even gonna right that down.
We had to have the police department come and do a police report so they wouldn't think we had hurt the baby. They in turn called the ambulance and the fire department. They took the baby to the ER and she had xrays done and again, thankfully there were no fractures and she seemed fine despite everything.
So thankful to God and his angels that took care of my husband and daughter. It was pretty scary. Staying at my mom's. The insurance adjustor just came and is writing up an estimate.I can't wait to get everything cleaned up and fixed so we can get over this crazy experience.
