Seven years ago I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis.  It has been a struggle.  All the regular medications to control inflamation and symptoms don't work for me.  My body is in the 2% of people who reacts negativly to them.  (a list of medications tested is to come) ... [More] .  Most recent visits to my GI, have shown her that I may also have crohns disease.  Seven years ago I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis.  It has been a struggle.  All the regular medications to control inflamation and symptoms don't work for me.  My body is in the 2% of people who reacts negativly to them.  (a list of medications tested is to come).  Most recent visits to my GI, have shown her that I may also have crohns disease.

I was in constant flair up mode the first 3 years.  Went on prednisone, I gained weight really fast, at an unhealthy rate, my liver became irritated.  I was taken off of them, although they cleared up my stomach pains, and was symptom free, there was no way I could stay on it.  Went through a few years of self controlling the symptoms as best as possible.  I became depressed, and the anxiety followed quickly and I am still struggling with both the depression and anxiety.  As the obvious symptoms of U.C or Crohns disease began to slow down(cramping bloating, unexpected, urgent, BM diareah (up to 10 times a day) other problems began to stand out.  The last 2+ years Suffering from depression, anxiety, stress, and an unexplained, unidentified pain on my right side of my abdomon above my hip.  I have been hospitalized multiple times for excessive pain on my right side.  I have had multiple ultrasounds, multiple abdomon MRI's, no gallstones, no kidney stones, not pregnant, have had 2 full colonoscopies, and a stomach scope.  All unable to answer or explain this pain.  Dec 2008 I went into the hospital due to sever pain in my right side, fever, vommiting, neausia constantly, unable to eat (go long periods of time). Turned out I had a stomach infection, that spead to my pelvic area.  Its a month and a half later and I have been experiancing sharp pain again in my right side.  I need help, suggestions.  I wake up sick every morning, exhausted, it seems like it would be muscular, being that it is just on/behind the "flank" or above the hip, but I can tell its not the muscle.
It is sore to touch durring an episode(lasting 2- 12 hours) or durring a bad day, but not constantly.  Pain is fading, and seems to slightly move.  Most comfortable position changes, because it feels as if there is something swollen, need to adjust movement to be comfortable durring the pain.  I thought the infection was the answer, but its not, becase its back, its here again, and we did an agressive antibiotic treatment to clear it all up.
The last 3 days the pain has been getting worse and I find myself favouring my right side when I walk or move or even sleep.  I have lost 35 pounds in the last 3 months.  Sometimes when my side hurts, i feel so swollen inside that I feel as if my ribs could poke something when I move.  Feel sick in the morning, and then as i get active it tones down a bit, but then the pain returns and by the end of the day my side is aching badly.  I feel like I was to put my hand on my side above my right hip, squeeze and pull out whatever is wrong.

That is exactly what I have been feeling. Severe pain right abdominal and right hip that radiates down to my leg, and ankle. On flagyl and cipro but doesn't seem to be helping at all. It's very hard to eat and have lost about 30lbs in a few months, and sleeping is not so good lately but I am tired alot of the time anymore.
