Fish Oil & Low Dose Asprin - Help!

Jan 21, 2013 - 3 comments

I just happened to read the label on my fish oil supplement and noticed it said "Do not combine with anti coagulant medication without seeking advice. Well I'm on baby asprin which is anti coagulant medication right?  Does anyone know why they shouldn't be taken together???  I would ask my clinic but I know they aren't going to know - they are all as thick as pig sh*t there.

Those two together would not make your blood too thin in my humble (non-doctor) opinion. Especially considerating your situation needs anticoagulants. If you were taking Lovenox and baby aspirin, you might want to think twice about doing alot of fish oil, but I would not think taking it with baby aspirin alone would be any problem. I would actually keep taking a good amount of it if you're not on the Lovenox. Dr. Braverman recommends 4,000mg a day of fish oil. Thinking of you and praying for success on your FET, sweetie! xx

That's a good word...considerating. It's sort of a hybrid of consideration and considering. Happens when one is trying to do two things at once! Lol!!!

Thanx hun, I didn't realise that fish oil thins your blood too.  I should find out today if I am getting heparin or not so I guess that will factor in whether I keep taking the fish oil or not.  Hahahaha I think you've just discovered a new word - maybe it will catch on LOL.  I'm off to my FET in a couple of hours - so nervous!
