Water Consumption and Dieting

Feb 28, 2013 - 12 comments

I've decided to start tracking my water consumption. The last few days, I've been drinking about 32 oz per day. That may not be a lot, but for me it is. Cause I hardly ever drink any water at all.

I bought some of that "mio" drink enhancer. It's a liquid flavouring that you put in your water to give it flavour because honestly I don't like water cause there's no flavour to it. I find it so bland and blech. There are no calories or anything in the "mio". Makes the water taste pretty good. Basically makes it taste like juice without all the calories and sugar. Only problem with drinking more water is that I'm peeing like crazy! It's worse then being pregnant!

I'm really hoping that drinking more water will help me to lose some weight. I have a wedding dress I need to fit into by July.

I've started eating 1200 calories per day. So far it seems to be working okay. I've lost about 2 pounds.

Man is it hard though to lose weight. It's so much easier to gain then to lose. I've cut out a lot of sugar and trying to be really concious of what I eat.

I think this might be a tough journey, but I'm ready for it. I just hate dieting :-P

Drinking water will help fill you up and you will likely lose weight. When I did Jenny Craig, they wanted everyone to drink 64 oz a day!
I ate around 1200 calories a day as well and I lost 15 pounds in about two months, which made me thrilled because I gained them due to fertility drugs. Tracking calories and water should help you get into the perfect dress!

Thanks Risa!

Wow 64 oz....Well I'm halfway there per day!

Mine wasn't fertility drugs. It was just poor diet mainly. Never had a problem with the way I ate no matter how poorly until about 2 years ago when they found my tumour. I'm still trying to find out if my pineal gland tumour (essentially a brain tumour. It's close to the pituitary gland, and regulates sleep patterns and melatonin levels) is causing my weight gain. There doesn't seem to be a connection, but there's also not a lot of research done on it because they are a more rare tumour. Only account for about 10% of all brain tumours. Luckily mine is benign and has not grown, but it does get monitored on a regular basis.

I'll stop rambling about it because that's not what this post is about.

I already have my dress picked out and bought, but it was bought well before Preston was conceived, so that's my goal!

Yeah it's really good!

I really prefer it over crytal light or something like that. I find when you add crystal light, it makes the water taste gritty and very sweet.

I think drinking lots does take away hunger urge and helps to supress appetite, as long as what you drink is low cal. I am addicted to drinking water . It is tasteless but I just like the feeling of being rehydrated.  Dont do it because i should.  Downside is definately going to loo all the time : (
