getting rid of baby stuff- consign, ebay?????

Apr 01, 2013 - 7 comments

So I am having a really tough time getting rid of things.  There is a consignment sale coming up.  I know I need to get rid of some things- there are somethings I don't even have any emotional attachment to.  It is just  so hard.  Our twins will be our only children.  If I would have issues and be on bedrest again- who would look after my sweeties.  It is just so depressing.  I also am not sure if that is the best way to make money- I only get 65%.  I dont really want to mess with ebay.  Argh. Seems like a big loss.  I am fruestrated and I have been procastinating.  Tomorrow I need to turn everything in that I want to sell.  Have you sold things and what worked best?

I can understand how you feel.  I have saved some of their clothes that I can't part with.  I have been saving the rest in boxes as they grow out of things.  My sister is planning on adopting, so we've been putting the stuff aside for her.  I can tell you that I have sold items on Ebay, its ok, but time consuming.  I think if I had anything like a consignment shop up here, I would go that route.

I have boxes and boxes of clothes downstairs.  I have thought consignment sales and resale shops, but have came to the conclusion,
I think a garge sale is the best way to earn the most $.  No one takes a cut.
My husbands close friends teenage daughter is pregnant with a girl, so I have given clothes, bouncy chair, nipples, ect to her, but still have tons and tons left.
Your right, it's hard.  To know we will never have children again is sad.  If I was younger, I would push my hubby, but he is right.  We have 2 beautiful children, and 4 is a perfect number for vacations and such.
Let me know what you decide.  I am interested in hearing.

I use craigslist to sale stuff not baby items but other things like clothes and shoes and things like that because I dont like that ebay takes money and most of those stores wont give you much for anything they will offer you $1 and then sale your item for $10
But garage sales are a pretty good way to :)

I hope you don't mind me chiming in.... In our area we have a Facebook page for swap and buy. I have sold and bought a ton of things on this page. If you are on Facebook I would search your area for something like that... Then it's local moms and not crazies out in the world :)
