My mother died at the age of 86 of panchreatic cancer.  She had smoked for the first 50 years of her life except for chilhood of course.  My father died at 60 of serosis of the liver from excessive drinking and emphazema from smoking all his life and sanding  floors.  It was the emphazema that killed him.  Otherwise both my younger brothers are still alive and healthy although my middle brother is quite overweight at 390 lbs.  Diabetes runs in my mother's family but most of them lived to ripe old ages.  Several are still alive.
