Hope!!

We got some great hopeful news this morning!  This doctor, the nurses and staff is absolutely wonderful.  From the moment we arrived, I knew we were finally in the right place.  What a difference.
First, this dr. said we needed to address her issues with the fluid in her lungs.  There are two possible solutions but one would require actual surgery, and a 2-3 day stay in the hospital.  The other procedure would be an outpatient option.  However, she is referring her to an Oncologist Pulmonary dr.  right there in the same cancer center.  Everything is under one roof! So my mom will be calling him tomorrow to get that started first.
After that is addressed, she can start a new chemo.  This chemo is very effective in this type of cancer.  She said many of her patients have had great success with this type of chemo.  She also said she has other treatment options as well.
So my mom was exhausted but I think she is really feeling relieved after being told there was no hope.  This dr today said There is always hope.
Thank you so much ladies, I hope that I am here for each one of you as you all have been for me.  I'm not going anywhere so please know that you can turn to me for whatever you need.

Oh wow, made me teary eyed. Journey I'm SOO happy and hopeful for your mom. What a relief and wonderful news!! The doctor is right, there is always hope!! I really hope (and this is minor in a way ) that you're all able to rest peacefully tonight. I'm sure you all have spent many nights awake, exhausted, wondering and worrying and I hope this brings you all some peace in a way that you are all able to get a good nights rest. Always keeping your mom and you all in my thoughts and prayers!! Ahh I'm so excited for her!!!!!! :D

Sometimes all it takes is finding the right person to give you the answers you need. So happy for your mom and your family that she will finally get the attention she needs to feel better!!!

I take my mom in tomorrow for pre op appt. Surgery next week 11/21! Praying they get it all out!

The doc is right there's always hope. So glad to come on mh and see that your mom is seeing someone who won't give up. Sending prayers!

Thank you so much ladies.  My mom already has an apt for Tuesday with the pulmonary dr.  So things are moving right along.  Your prayers must have worked, I really didn't think there was much hope left.  My dad had tears in his eyes yesterday and asked the Dr. if he could hug her because,"she's the doctor who will save my wife's life".   He said to me this morning your mom and I slept very well last night.  My mom thanked me for writing the letter, she believes that is why she was able to get in to see this dr.  I'm sorry if I didn't mention it before my mind is all over the place.  I found this place online, I heard about it but didn't know much about it.  I noticed they had a Director of Patient Advocates, so I emailed her.
The next thing I knew she emailed me back saying it was such a nice letter, she personally walked it over to the oncologist.  This is how we were able to get her in to see the dr.  So anyway, I met the director yesterday and she said its an honor to meet you.  I had tears in my eyes because honestly I was overwhelmed by everything yesterday.  Anyway, I'm just happy it worked.
One last note  to Moma Cher - I will be praying hard for your mom as well and please know I'm here for you, we can get through this together.  Matter of fact, we call ALL get through anything together. xox

What a huge relief that they got a good night's sleep.
