Thanks. As well as for creative purposes I use collage work to understand what is going on with my neurological recovery. It can be an intense process to create the collages as well but its done rapidly so I am not aware of any subconscious symbolism until afterwards so it also helps with self awareness and self understanding on many levels.

This stuff is always intriguing that you do as collages.  I don't understand them entirely but I can see a theme and structure behind them and like Dazon50 said they are thought provoking indeed.  Would also be interesting to hear what you would come up with for a sound collage or something or even if you wrote music or painted.

Thanks. Well my artistic ability never really extended that well to painting (I tried when I was younger). I did used to do sound collages on a really primitive sampler and as well I can sometimes play a virtual analog synth I have. And I can play classical music and jazz on the piano. What has held me back with both of those are the dystonic spasms. And hopefully as physical recovery progresses I can get back to that.

Yes for everyone creativity is a good means of self expression and a way to understand your own ideas and symbolism and what they might mean in a way you didn't understand when you first started the art work in the same manner that dream interpretation is. And for people who see a talk therapist that can be worthwhile for discussion and for myself seeing a psychiatrist I always did and now that what is going on is clinically complex, my psychopharmocologist shares what he sees in my collage work with my neurologist who is a movement disorders specialist. But at the same time it is an enjoyable means of self expression for anyone.
