For anyone who doesn't have this disease symptom and is now thinking I'm a total freak of nature: allow me to explain. Due to severe pooling of blood in my legs/feet when I stand upright, my skin appears blotchy and discolored (often gray/purple in hue with some redness mixed in but will blanch to white when pressed--yes, that's my fingerprint on one of the legs in this picture). Testing has revealed that even with the maximum dosage of vasoconstrictive medication being taken, I still have about 40% of my blood pooling when upright. I swear my legs are not normally this hideous; please don't start sending condolence cards to my SO. :-p
On a positive note, if Barney retires, I have a new dayjob. :-D Too bad those syrup-y sweet preschool songs really grate on my nerves. I'd much rather be a Wiggle. But I think it'd be a hard sell, trying to replace the Wiggle who retired due to Orthostatic Intolerance with myself, a fellow "dysautonomian."
You know, I always wondered when they say if a white finger print is left after you press on your skin, thats not good. I use to think everyone had that. Now I understand what they are saying. Theres a name for that when someone is a live example, but I cant remember--anyway. Wow. You have such a great attitude!
