Still got some weight to lose, but I've lost 36lbs in 10 months, so not too far to go.  And, weight is my last worry now - I am too busy enjoying my new life!

This pic was taken at The Petwood Hotel, Woodhall Spa, Lincs, UK in May 2011.  It was a special occassion - a reunion Dinner for 617 Sqdn "The Dambusters" - My beloved, late Daddy, was an historian, and I go to the reunions in his honour.

I've always been a social drinker, long before alcohol became a problem for me, so this time at The Petwood, it was rarther strange to be drinking sparkling water all night, when all around me, people were drinking the free pre-dinner drinks, free flowing wine, and port to toast the Queen.

But I bet I was the only one who got up the next day fresh as a daisy, no hangover, and was able to remember everything about the previous evening!

I suppose I always used alcohol as a crutch, as I do suffer anxiety, social phobia, etc., so to have to go to such an event without this crutch was daunting, but you know what?  I had a MUCH better time sober than I ever did whilst drinking.

Isn't life brilliant??!!!

I may not know who you are but I can relate...I am so proud of your success in remaining sober, and isn't just the greatest thing waking up refreshed without a hangover.........I myself am pregnant so i cannot drink, but I hope to not return to drinking after i have this baby, it has only brought me loads of trouble and stress.........By the way, you look amazing sober like a totally different person....You go girrllll!!!!!haha

Thank you for your lovely comments!  I've just found out I'm pregnant too, so I'm really excited!  Congrats on your pregnancy, how far are you?  Life is so much better without alcohol - It nearly killed me, I hate it with a vengeance! xxx

wow the transformation is amazing!!

Thank you very much!  This is what I looked like before alcohol became a problem, so I'm lucky it didn't ravage me like it has done to others.  Trouble is, I'm now nearly 22 weeks pregnant, so feel and look like a baby elephant, lol!
