Thanks Sarah... It doesn't need too much more done, but will need food safe finish to protect the wood.

Jimmy... There's not a "common" use for a wooden knife. The whole idea is that it's unique, I designed it myself and did something that most/many people wouldn't think to do.  

A knife like this can be used to cut things like cakes, soft fruits, etc.  It could be nice for the special knife used at a wedding, shower (baby, wedding, etc), graduation party or special event.  Names or other images could be burned or engraved into the handle, etc. for a keepsake of the event.  For instance, I still have the cake knife used at my wedding 52 yrs ago.
